Ceci is a feminist and human rights advocate with over a decade of combined experience working in the civil society sector, the public sector and as an independent consultant to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender equality. She started her activism in Mexico as the co-founder of a youth-led organization where she developed and consolidated the organization’s Gender Program. Member of the Torchlight Collective since 2016, she has participated in different consultancies, and worked with clients such as CARE International, Open Society Foundations and the International Planned Parenthood Federation. Most recently, she began collaborating with a global partnership to ensure that girls’ and women’s movements in Latin America have the data they need to strengthen their advocacy efforts and to hold their governments accountable on the  commitments made in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve gender equality. Cecilia has also served in different governance and advisory roles in Mexico, and at the international level, including the Board of Directors of Women Deliver, The Partnership for Maternal Newborn & Child Health, and the UNAIDS Reference Group on HIV and Human Rights. 

Cecilia holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Gender from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Mexico), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
